Junior Achievement’s core mission is dedicated to preparing the workforce of the future. In a world where change is the only constant, Junior Achievement must keep innovating. As part of that innovation, we are rolling out a new program in 2015 called JA Inspire.
JA Inspire is the pilot for a powerful interactive experience that exposes 8th grade students to the vast variety of local career opportunities. This job awareness fair will enable students to interact with business representatives and see displays from dozens of Kentuckiana companies including Dow Chemical, KentuckyOne Health, Ford, Interapt, GE, KentuckianaWorks, The Learning House, The Software Guild, Zeon Chemical, and Arkema. This year, exhibits will focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Careers. Other fields will be added in subsequent years.
This year’s JA Inspire will include three unique events:
Saturday, September 19th: JA Inspire Booth @ Louisville Mini Maker’s Faire – Sponsored by Dow Chemical and Rubbertown-area Industry
Thursday, October 15th: School-day event for 400 JCPS 8th Graders at Louisville Slugger Field
Friday, October 16th: Evening event in cooperation with the JCPS Middle and High School Showcase of Schools at the Hyatt Ballroom Downtown
