Wrapping up Another School Year
June 22, 2016 | News & EventsAs we wrap up another school year, it’s also a time to look back on all of the exciting things that have happened this year. Every year we are dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. From proudly serving more than 61,000 students with JA programs, to creating new programs tailored for Kentuckiana students, it has been a fantastic year.
JA Inspire is a new program that was piloted this year, and works to introduce 8th grade students to the vast variety of local career opportunities. Manufacturing, business, public service, and medicine are a few examples of potential career paths students learned about. JA Inspire will continue next school year, and reach even more students. JA Personal Success was created to help high school students in our community to land and keep their first jobs; they learn everything from how to shake hands to workplace expectations.
None of this would be possible though, without the help of all of our generous volunteers and donors. Throughout the entire school year more than 3,000 volunteers from the community and local companies gave their time to help students. In an hour a week for 5-7 weeks or as little as a single morning, these passionate leaders shared their experiences and led programs that left a lasting impression.
Thank you to all the Volunteers, Donors, Teachers, and Students who made this a wonderful and record breaking year!
